The 2023 Art Basel Americas fair will feature works from 277 of the world’s best galleries.
Exhibitions and events beyond the fair with prominent institutions, private collections, and cultural partners throughout Miami Beach will complement the show’s newcomers and veteran exhibitors, as well as fresh highlights from the Latin American scene and the Caribbean diaspora.
The iconic Americas fair in Miami Beach will host 277 leading galleries from 33 countries and territories, with nearly two-thirds of exhibitors having principal locations in North and South America, presenting an exceptional overview of artists, galleries, and new perspectives from the region and beyond. Egyptian, Icelandic, Philippine, and Polish galleries are among the 24 newcomers to this year’s fair. The fair’s layout has been revamped to accommodate guests, with new seating and catering options. Art Basel’s weeklong program of exhibitions, events, and activations across Miami Beach will extend beyond the fair’s traditional confines by partnering with a wide variety of prestigious institutions, private collections, and cultural organizations.
Noah Horowitz, CEO, Art Basel, says: Having led our Miami Beach fair for six years as Director, Americas, I know first-hand the galvanizing role our show plays within the creative ecosystem of Miami, the broader region, and the global arts community. Art Basel Miami Beach continues to exceed expectations year after year, in the quality and range of the art on view, and in the singularly magnetic experience within and beyond the halls which continues to attract both established and entirely new audiences and bring out the best of the local cultural scene each December. Our offering this year demonstrates yet again the strength of our show as an engine of the world of art in the Americas and globally and as an utterly transformative cross-cultural experience – made possible by our premier exhibitors, our world-renowned cultural partners and collaborators in Miami Beach and South Florida, and our exceptional team.
UBS, the event’s Global Lead Partner, has scheduled Art Basel 2023 for December 8–10 at the Miami Beach Convention Centre (MBCC), including preview days on December 6–7.
In 2023, Art Basel will host its premier global fair in the Americas. It will bring together 277 leading international galleries to showcase the finest artworks in all media, from classical to contemporary, analogue to digital works, by artists spanning the early twentieth-century Modern pioneers to contemporary practitioners. This year’s galleries come from all over the world, with over two-thirds coming from North and South America and the rest coming from Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Furthermore, the fair’s specialised industries will be represented by intriguing presentations:
Meridians will showcase 19 large-scale installations that go beyond the bounds of a standard art fair booth and will be curated by Magal Arriola, curator at Mexico City’s Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporaneo. Exhibitors will be able to present succinctly organized installations within their major booths during the return of Kabinett, a staple element of the Miami Beach expo that features themed group exhibitions, art-historical highlights, and solo presentations.
The fair will once again host Conversations, a program of live dialogues featuring some of the most influential individuals in contemporary culture and curated by fair co-director Emily Butler. Leaders in the fields of art and culture will talk about today’s most important issues on this popular program.
