Art Basel has unveiled an exciting lineup for its 2024 edition in Paris, marking a significant milestone as it moves into the iconic Grand Palais. Renamed Art Basel Paris, this year’s event promises to be a monumental occasion, bringing together 194 galleries from 42 countries, including 51 first-time participants and 64 galleries with spaces in France. The fair will take place from October 18-20, with exclusive VIP Preview Days on October 16 and 17.
A Historic Venue
The 2024 show will be the first event hosted in the Grand Palais since its extensive three-year renovation. The Grand Palais, an architectural marvel inaugurated in 1900 for the Paris Universal Exposition, offers a fittingly grand setting for Art Basel’s debut in its refurbished halls. This move underscores Art Basel’s deep connection to Paris and its vibrant cultural ecosystem. The decision to rename the event from Paris+ par Art Basel to Art Basel Paris was made in consultation with the French Ministry of Culture, the City of Paris, and other local partners, reflecting the fair’s enhanced commitment to the city.
A Diverse and Inclusive Exhibition
Art Basel Paris will feature three main exhibition sectors:
- Galeries: Showcasing the full breadth of programs from 169 leading galleries worldwide, this sector will include works by 20th-century masters, contemporary blue-chip artists, mid-career practitioners, and emerging voices. Notable first-time participants include:
