Brass and Pietra Dura Tell a Material and a Story
In 2025, the studio will emphasize its unique ability to tell a story through material. Brass, the most timeless out of all metals, stands as the centerpiece of the studio’s design language. Art In Action: Functional Sculptural Furniture
The murals aside, the studio’s sculptural furniture stands out as an innovative design approach that turns the mundane into sculptures capable of eloquently speaking for themselves and should be on display. Some key highlights are:
1. The “Mesa” Collection: This set showcases sculptural brass elements and merges a topographical approach with the studio’s signature textured surfaces. The designs make use of natural contours while serving a purpose, which makes them appropriate for both private and public spaces.
2. The “Shaded Graphite” Collection: This series of cabinets, mirrors, and sconces demonstrates the advanced bridal work for which the studio is noted. Surfaces with patina and organic textures are literally turned into fine visual art instead of remaining as functional objects.
